A 6-hour applique class taught in one day, with a 1-hour break mid-way, or in two 3-hour sessions on two separate days.
A variety of applique techniques are covered, including needle-turned hand appliqué, the starch method with hand and machine stitching, and fusible applique with hand- and machine-finished edges. Two methods for applying bias tubes, and (almost) invisible machine stitching are also covered.
Ruching fabric strips, folded rosebuds, folded hexagons and round & petal-shaped yo-yo’s are also taught.
In addition, fabric selection for the pattern will be discussed, as well as how to make the tree trunk, and how to get the 2 pieced inner borders to fit.
